When I received the opportunity to review Yes! To Cookies*, I was pretty excited because being a sweet tooth, I generally become friends with just about any cookie that crosses my path. In addition, I personally know many people who could benefit from knowing about this product as they are afflicted with health conditions that give them glucose and gluten problems. So when a box filled to the brim with these treats arrived at my house, I quickly opened them to give them a good ole' taste test. Continue reading →

I personally know many people who could benefit from knowing about Yes! to Cookies, as they are afflicted with health conditions that give them glucose and gluten problems. So when a box filled to the brim with these treats arrived at my house, I quickly opened them to give them a good ole’ taste test.

Since I have become a chocoholic over the years and am not a huge fan of anything strawberry-flavored, I preferred the Coco-Licious over the Strawberry-Banana Blitz cookies. But I didn’t want to rely solely on just my tastebuds, so I shared the Yes! To Cookies samples with some girlfriends. They all said they were tasty, but just like me, they would pick the chocolate ones over the strawberry. However, when one of my friends shared them with her relatives, many of whom suffer from Celiac Disease, they gave both flavors a thumbs up.

What I find most important than taste when it comes to these products is the fact that they offer people, who might otherwise not be able to eat desserts, an option to quench their sweet tooth.

Facts about Yes! To Cookies:

So if you know someone who is unable to eat cookies due to blood sugar, gluten, or weight problems, this is the answer they’ve been waiting for. Yes!
MomActive believes in Giving Back and so does Komar, the largest sleepwear and intimate apparel manufacturer in the United States. Komar has set up a website called PJsforthecure.com in an effort to raise $1 million for the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). 100% of every sale on Pjsforthecure.com will be donated to JDRF.

From the website:

The inspiration for PJs for the Cure originated with Charlie Komar, President & CEO of the 101 year old family company. Charlie explains, “In 1990, my wife, Liz, was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. She was suddenly completely dependent upon synthetic insulin to keep her alive. She checks her blood sugar levels several times a day and is very careful of her eating habits and activities to ensure that she does not fall into a diabetic coma or worse. The realization of how serious her condition is and the dangers associated with it completely changed our lives.”

The efforts of JDRF and finding a cure for Juvenile Diabetes is a cause that MomActive has committed to being a part of. One of our loyal community members was recently touched by this disease when her daughter was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes. Later this week on BTR, MomActive Live will be speaking with Kelly Loubet @childhood about what led her to test her daughters urine for sugar and the blur of events that followed, ultimately resulting in a life-changing diagnosis for her daughter Ali. Tune in Tuesday at 11am ET HERE.

We encourage you to visit PJsforthecure.com to support this great cause and give recognition to a company that is giving back.
